Graciela Rutkowski, owner of Graciela Rutkowski Interiors in Seattle, has a fresh approach rooted in the classics. “I love to mix eras and cultures in interior design to create personal, individual spaces with laidback elegant taste.”

Graciela’s flair for design began at an early age when she and her family traveled to her parents’ homelands of Argentina and Czechoslovakia. After attending the University of Southern California, and beginning a career in technology, Graciela found herself offering both solicited and unsolicited decorating advice to friends and relatives. Realizing she had found her true passion, she opened her own design firm in 2002. In 2005, Graciela opened GR Hedges with a partner. Located in the trade at the Seattle Design Center, GR Hedges specializes in custom upholstery, a variety of furniture lines, custom Italian bed linens, as well as accessories for the home.

Graciela has been highlighted in national and local publications and her work has earned her a place on the House Beautiful list of “America’s Top 25 Young Designers”. In September 2006, she was one of thirty-two Northwest designers who were honored for their work by the Seattle Design Centers annual Northwest Design Awards. She won the 2007 Southern Accents/ASID Residential Interior Design Contest for “Best Kitchen”.
